I started the task of replacing the left rear quarter panel and the inner wheel wells. This was quit a task! First the panels from NPD didn’t fit worth a crap, they were too long and too tall to fit the creases and curves of the body. I had to position the panel from the top down every 6 inches or so and drill a hole and secure it with a screw,  then go dwon again and repeat the process to get the curve of the new skin to match the curve of the door. When I got to the bottom the panel was 3/8” too long. I had to pound a new crease up from the old one and cut off the excess material to get it to fit. Once this was in place the rear of the panel was about 1/2” too long to fit the rear section, I’m still working on that so I have no solution yet.

Side Note:

Don’t buy NPD stuff! The front fenders dont fit, the chrome molding on the inner wheel wells dont fit at all, in fact they were used! I kid you not, there were marks were the screw holes are and their totaly scratched up. I will post a pic on them soon.

I called them and the salesperson claimed “in the 8 years I’ve worked here, I’ve never heard of our fender not fitting”! Yea Right!
