Engine Bay

December 5, 2003 Update

Here are some shot of the Hooker 2475 headers. The fit on the drivers side was terrible. I had to dent cylinders 3,5 and 7 to clear! There was a good 1.5” of clearence between the header and the block so they could of turned the tubes in closer to the block to clear the power steering box. Poor quality or a bad set? If this was a performance application I would have just sent them back. Passenger side cleared just fine.

This is the engine cleaned up and painted. I removed the pan to clearence it for the center link and I was surprised to find it was a 4 Bolt Main block!

Here is a picture of the donor truck. There was no blood anywhere and I was told the owner came out OK!

Here I was power washing the engine. It was really clean with no leaks. The person really took good care of it. I will paint it Kandy Yellow too once I  get it fitted for the last time.

Sept 14, 2003 Update

Here is a sneak peak at the new engine. I can’t get it to fit properly with the stock exhaust manifolds so I ordered up a set of headers. I will post pictures when the headers get in. Also, the motor has not been detailed or painted yet. I will do that when I’m ready to bolt the engine in for the last time. I’m going to paint the engine Kandy Yellow, the same as the body color, plus this will give an idea of what the color will look like!

June 21, 2003 Update

I have the front end done, all new brakes, brake springs, wheel cylinders, brakes lines(hard and soft) and master cylinder. New KYB Shocks, upper & lower bushings, upper & lower ball joints, inner & outer tie rod ends, pitman and idler arm! ALL New, everything.

I sprayed the engine compartment, frame and all components POR-15 Semi-Gloss paint.

What engine bay! When we dragged it home the person tried to do some of the restore process so the front fenders was already removed.
