Paint Booth

Here is my home made paint booth. I used 6 low grade filters for the top rows (figuring dirt wont be that high) and 6 high grade for the lower  areas.

I have one explosion resistant fan that does a great job, even with all the filters in place it sucks the sides and roof in quite a bit.

The fumes and over spray evacuate just fine.

I STILL get dirt in the paint though! I can’t believe it, I vacuum, sweep, wet the floors, dust the walls and tack the parts 3 times before shooting but there’s still dirt on the parts, I don’t get it!

Here is the House of Kolor 2 part primer, really strange color...

This is with 3 coats of the Orion Shimrim Pearl base coat.

The final color..Kandy Cobalt Blue over Orion Silver Pearl, the pictures don’t come close to showing the real color and the glow from the light rays!

For now, I just painted the firewall, inner fenders and the radiator support so that I can get the engine and trans in place. My next goal will be to get it running and drivable before I put the interior in. I custom built the dash and will have after market bucket seats. Once the interior is done then I will start cutting the rear quarters off and finishing the back end. You can see one of the skins on the roof. If you look hard you can see the vintage air unit on the passenger side roof.
