October 2006
We went to the Boise Halloween Classic again this year and the car ran flawlessly and ran the best of 8.63@162. I was going to open up the throttle a little bit because the track was so good but I decided not to because we only got a few time trials because the car count was so high this year plus the parachute has never been pulled. The car is still less then half throttle!
September 2006
The cars been running great, haven’t done much other than softer springs on the front and rear and a rear anti-roll bar which has helped a bunch with down track traction. Been running 9.0’s in our 7500 feet of air. The past weekend I upped the throttle a hair and the car responded with 8.85@154. The throttle sensor went from 142 to 148! WOT is 240. There is now doubt it will run 8.70’s in fact I figure that it may run 8.50’s in our summer air.
October 2005
We went to Boise for the Halloween Classic and the car ran the best of 8.71@156!! It’s amazing how dropping from 7000’ DA to 4000’ DA will speed up the cars! We’re still running only part throttle so I still think 8.70’s in our summer 7500’ DA is still possible once it’s full throttle.
Aug 2005
With more seat time and getting comfortable the car is now very consistent and running 9.0’@151MPH. We still have about 40% throttle to give it so were still expecting 8.70’s (at 7500 DA) once we open her up!
July 19, 2005
New best of 9.32 @ 148.43 with 8000’ DA
June 17 2005
To date the car has run the best of 9.40 and 144MPH, we have the throttle set to 45% until we work out the down track looseness. On a Mustang Dyno the car produced 800RWHP and nearly 1100TQ, this should get the car down the track in the mid 8’s with good air once we open her up!
The motor is a self built 632 with a Dart block, 11:1 compression with Brodix M2 BB2 CNC heads. The engine produced more power then I expected, the heads obviously flow well. The goal was to have a big inch low RPM motor that we wouldn’t have to spin very high and would last several seasons without rebuilding. We are shifting at 5600RPM and crossing the finish line at 6100RPM
Here are some pictures at our local race track “Rocky Mountain Raceways”. We have had a lot of chassis issues and the car is a little loose down track.
We found the front struts were bad so once we get the new ones in I hope it will cure the down track problems.
